Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of physical fitness tests using the Rockport method on students’ learning interest at UPTD SD Negeri 1 Bireuen. This research employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The research subjects were 30 fifth-grade students selected through purposive sampling from a population of 60. Physical fitness data were obtained through the Rockport Walk Test (a 1.6 km brisk walk), while learning interest data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The results indicated a positive and significant relationship between physical fitness and students’ learning interest (r = 0.57; p < 0.05). This means that the better the students’ physical fitness, the higher their learning interest. It can be concluded that good physical fitness contributes to increased enthusiasm, motivation, and interest in learning among elementary school students.
