Learning Arabic holds a strategic position in Islamic education, particularly for students of the Elementary Madrasah Teacher Education (PGMI) program who are prepared to become educators at the elementary level. This article aims to examine the urgency of learning Arabic for PGMI students through a theoretical review of Islamic education literature. The research method used is library research, analyzing various primary and secondary sources, including books, journal articles, and scientific documents relevant to Arabic language learning and Islamic education. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, categorization, and descriptive-analytical conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that learning Arabic for PGMI students is urgent in three main aspects: the religious aspect as a means of understanding the sources of Islamic teachings, the pedagogical aspect as a foundation for the professionalism of elementary Madrasah teachers, and the academic aspect as a foundation for developing linguistic competence and Islamic knowledge. Furthermore, Islamic education literature confirms that Arabic language proficiency among prospective MI teachers contributes to the quality of learning, the internalization of Islamic values, and the strengthening of PGMI's scientific identity. Thus, Arabic language learning needs to be positioned as an essential component of the PGMI curriculum and developed systematically based on a pedagogical approach appropriate to the characteristics of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students.
